Why Christian Therapy?

We are Christians and we believe that the whole universe belongs to God. Therefore, all science is God's science. Psychology and therapy are based on science. Therefore, psychology and therapy are God's. If you use the Bible as the lens through which you see psychology, the therapeutic techniques that are widely accepted as effective agree with the teaching of the Bible. If you are a Christian, talking about your faith and feelings toward God can help. We provide a safe setting for you to process where you are in your faith journey and where you would like to be. When people encounter Christ they change. Through the Holy Spirit we work to embody Christ and give you a transformative experience.

Do I Have to Be A Christian?

You do not have to be a Christian to receive therapy from our clinicians. You will be treated with the same unconditional love and respect we give every client, regardless of your personal beliefs. At Kainos Christian Therapy we say, "We expose so that we do not impose." We tell you with our clinic name and in our conversations that we are Christians, coming from a Christian world view with corresponding values. Our goal is that clients who are not Christians will not feel tricked or misled. Unconditional positive regard is a core requirement of excellent therapy.

Our Core Values

Faith-Integrated

We approach therapy from a biblical world and life view. That means we start with a biblical view of God and man and use that as a lens through which we evaluate counseling theory and practice.

Clinically Excellent

We use only techniques proven by research to help clients achieve deep and lasting change — AEDP, EFT for Couples, EMDR, and Reintegrative Therapy.

Deeply Personal

When clients trust us with their care, it is a great privilege and a great responsibility. Entering into the client's pain, grief, and suffering is entering a holy place.

"I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears."

Psalm 34:4

Miriam Fam, AMFT

Miriam Fam, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Miriam first felt God's call to become a therapist while serving in Egypt on missions. There she taught English to orphans, mentored young girls, and helped widowed mothers. "Whether you are in America or Africa, people have emotional pain. Being able to show them Jesus' love by actually having the knowledge to walk them through their pain and guide them towards healing is the greatest open door to the gospel." Miriam has a passion to work with her clients from a holistic lens and has deep interest in combining psychology, nutrition and Christian faith in her clinical work. She has completed her Masters of Arts from the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University and hopes to get her certificate in Functional Nutrition in the years to come. Before seeking a vocation as a therapist, Miriam trained for 17 years as a professional dancer, developing her personality, work ethic, and love for performing.

Silvija Pajden-Pajovic, AMFT

Silvija Pajden-Pajovic, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Silvija was born into a Serbian family during the collapse of the former Yugoslavia, where the dominant message of her childhood was that God belonged to the past. In the absence of a faith framework, she turned to creative expression and eventually to psychology, seeking to grapple with questions of meaning, suffering, and transformation. That search ultimately led her to recognize Christ as the foundation for true and lasting change. Through engaging Scripture, her understanding of healing was reoriented, and her interest in integrating faith with therapeutic work was awakened. Silvija is relationally oriented and attachment-focused, with a passion for engaging meaning-making through the therapeutic encounter and beyond. She studied film at USC and earned her master's degree in psychology from California Southern University. Outside the therapy room, Silvija continues to write and make films that live somewhere between the poetic and the unsettling. A fun fact: she was once a Yugoslav national silver medalist in figure skating.
